Ingredients
Instructions
Heat butter and oil in a large pot over medium-high heat until melted. Saute onion for 2-3 minutes until softened. Cook garlic until fragrant, about 1 minute.
Add mushrooms and 1/2 teaspoon thyme, cook for 5 minutes. Pour in wine and allow to cook for 3 minutes.
Sprinkle mushrooms with flour, mix well and cook for 2 minutes. Add stock, mix again and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low-medium heat, season with salt, pepper and crumbled bouillon cubes.
Cover and allow to simmer for 10-15 minutes, while occasionally stirring, until thickened.

Instructions
Add ground beef, onion and pepper to pan and brown, then drain.
Add remaining ingredients and stir well.
Bring to a light boil then reduce to simmer and cover until it thickens up.
You may want to add more ketchup and/or Worcestershire sauce to taste.

In a large kettle or Dutch oven, cook ground beef and onion. Add green pepper until meat is browned.
Drain off fat. Stir in undrained tomatoes, red beans and spices. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat.
Cover and simmer 30 minutes. Find and remove bay leaf and cloves.
OPTIONAL: You can add a 15 oz. can of Contadina Tomato Sauce and a teaspoon of cumin.
